On behalf of my Government, I commend you, Mr. Secretary-General, for your inspiring and visionary leadership; and in particular, for dedicating this year - 2021 -  to the advancement of the vision of the 2030 Agenda through the transformation of our global food systems. 

Liberia’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Cecilia Forgbe Wreh-McGill, on Monday, September 20, 2021, on behalf of His Excellency Dr. George Manneh Weah, President of the Republic of Liberia, and His Excellency Dee-Maxwell Saah Kemayah, Sr., Minister of Foreign Affairs,  joined world leaders, representatives of the United Nations Member States and the United Nations System at a special ceremony commemorating the 20^th anniversary of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, in the United States.

The Executive Director of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), Ms. Henrietta Fore, has hailed Liberia as a model for negotiating the acceptance of the COVID-19 vaccines through the COVID-19 Global Access (COVAX) facility. 

The COVAX facility is a global initiative for the procurement and supply of COVID-19 vaccines, with the goal of ensuring that every country, even the poorest, has equitable access to the vaccines.
